Enabling a Sunday brunch.

Who doesn’t love Sunday brunches around here?

I’ve never been the kind of girl who finds it difficult to sit a round a table, grazing and quaffing for hours on end. But then Angel started with me, calling me his enabler*. Probably because I was ordering wine before we ordered breakfast.

We discussed it for a while and finally decided we were each others enablers. Then, to celebrate this remarkable co-dependency co-incidence we ordered another bottle of wine. And good thing we did too, by the time we had finished laughing and catching up with friends around the table it was too late to order breakfast and we were straight into the lunch menu. See? Forward thinking is not enabling.

Spending most of Sunday around a table with Flutter’s friends and family celebrating her birthday and imminent travel plans was fabulous, even if I left there feeling completely dehydrated and yet still desperate to pee. A conundrum I pondered for about 3 seconds as I curled into my sundrenched couch for a Sunday afternoon snooze.

And listen, while we’re chatting, two more things.

First, the awesome gumboots mentioned here have finally arrived. And yes, I roll up my jeans during doglet walking for maximum boot exposure.

Secondly, my parents brought back (among other gifts), a new bikini. For me. Fabulous. Love it. A 34DD bikini Um. What exactly do you expect me to put in that? GaryM suggested lots of those little alcohol sachets. I’m sensing people are getting a rather alcohol tinged impression of me. Angel might be right about this whole enabling thing afterall.

*”An enabler in most definitions is a person who through his or her actions allows someone else to achieve something. Most often the term enabler is associated with people who allow loved ones to behave in ways that are destructive. The term enabler is also part of the larger definition of codependency - www.wisegeek.com

Poor buggers!

With those boots you'd look like a Village People Refugee*.

I'm starting to think you're channelling Angel. That's what he said.

Those boots are really quite eye-catching! Not sure if I'd get away with wearing them, but I'm sure you carry it off with aplomb.

I'm loving them. People have already started asking where they can get some.
