This grand old house stands within 3m of a 10m excavation. I have contacted the local newspaper for them to investigate whether the house will be restored/demolished/continue to be imhabited by squatters.

Lovely pics. Doubt if old house is 60 years old but any idead why the massive demolition so close by?
I think the waterfall is gorgeous and that old school house is a storey waiting to be written. I would buy it in a heartbeat and turn it into a holiday cottage.

And knowing that you and I are in the arch business, the massive retaining wall will probably keep the gound from collapsing but it's still bloody sacrilege!! The local newspaper is going to investigate. I'll post a follow-up when I have more info.

I've seen on DSTV those blokes who literally pick up houses and building and move them to another location...if only we had something like that here. I'd pay a lot of money to move the old girl to a new spot and open a guest house!
