Rock squids dart for cover,
shells dig in deep,
as the boy with the elegant mist cape
wanders through the pools.
Ocean’s giant tongue tip
laps at his feet
as if a feast; roars with delight
while rubbing salt in the wounds.
He can see his shoes now,
Jesus had taken them,
walking on water with rock squid speed
between the darker rocks at Black Cliff’s foot.
Knee-deep he climbs,
clumsy red lobster hands, frail,
small fishes giving him soft kisses on the cuts
that leak rusty stains.
A raven dives down
(raisin black feather-gowned),
sailing down the gloomy curtain of fog;
a dark adhesive that hides the black rocks’ shadows.
Swimming now, cape afloat –
a rock hard nudge in the ribs;
pain linger, erases worries of such things as shoes –
I raise my hand, wave back and adjust the camera strap.

You've got e(mergency)-mail! :)
Wow Ramon
This is the kind of stuff I will always come back for.
I love all aspects of the sea and this took me right back there. I can smell the ocean and taste the salt. My yearning for the sea is so deep currently. Thank you.
Semi.
Nice to see you back again! It's been a while.
I miss the sea as well, but ja, city life for now...
Ramon
It has been a while. I have just been trying to get my life in order and didn't feel the need to subject all of you to that so thought it best to stay away for a while. I am now almost there and it's really amazing. I have been opened up to so many new things and I have also learnt to let go of all my past hurts and forgive. It's been like a weight lifted off my shoulders.
I am definitely going to make a trip down to the sea soon. I need it.
I missed this place and I missed reading your stuff. I have A LOT of reading to do since I've last been here and will try to get through it all.
Lovely word pictures Ramon
all the aspects of the seashore - you see everything!
Dusty.
Thank you.

what a beautiful line - never quite thought of raisins in terms of colour before!
and the dark adhesive of fog. man. i wish i'd thought of that.
i reckon we're on the same wavelength - excuse the pun - i reposted/reworked my old seagull one a couple of days ago at the other place. yep. coinkidinks again.
Morts.
coinkidinks. Man. Ja. Enough said.
Thanks for the read and kind words.
Ramon
This really took me away. Can hear the lapping of the sea and the seagulls' plaintive cries in the mist. Then, the story unfolding...
Thanks for the read, Lily.
Much appreciated.
