Songs that mean a lot to me

Having been around here for a little while now, I'm under the impression that people don't share enough song lyrics with each other. In an attempt put this right I'd like to share with you a song that really menas a lot to me. I'd like to take it one step further and explain to everyone (in quite a bit of detail why the song and its lyrics mean so much).

The song that I've chosen for today is Walk like and Eqyptian by the Bangles.

Here goes:

All the old paintings on the tombs
They do the sand dance don't you know
If they move too quick (oh whey oh)
They're falling down like a domino (Reminds me of playing dominoes on the beach with my first love)

All the bazaar men by the Nile
They got the money on a bet
Gold crocodiles (oh whey oh)
They snap their teeth on your cigarette

Foreign types with the hookah pipes say
Ay oh whey oh, ay oh whey oh
Walk like an Egyptian (Reminds me of history stuff and pyramids and toucancarmen)

[The] Blonde waitresses take their trays (Reminds me of this cherry I once knew)
They spin around and they cross the floor
They've got the moves (oh whey oh)
You drop your drink then they bring you more (I did this once but I didn't get another drink - they chased me out of the bar)

All the school kids so sick of books
They like the punk and the metal band
When the buzzer rings (oh whey oh)
They're walking like an Egyptian

All the kids in the marketplace say
Ay oh whey oh, ay oh whey oh
Walk like an Egyptian

Slide your feet up the street bend your back
Shift your arm then you pull it back
Life['s] hard you know (oh whey oh)
So strike a pose on a Cadillac (This reminds me of the car section that should be here at OLM)

If you want to find all the cops
They're hanging out in the donut shop
They sing and dance (oh whey oh)
[They] Spin the clubs cruise down the block

All the Japanese with their yen
The party boys call the Kremlin
And the Chinese know (oh whey oh)
They walk the line like Egyptian (This whole verse reminds me of this sushi bar I once went to)

All the cops in the donut shop say
Ay oh whey oh, ay oh whey oh
Walk like an Egyptian
Walk like an Egyptian

Jislaaik this is a cool song.

No man Spoeg-en-poel!

Your song HAS to be Wheatus, Teenage Dirtbag

Her name is Noel
I have a dream about her
She rings my bell
I got gym class in half an hour
Oh how she rocks
In Keds and tube socks
But she doesn't know who I am
And she doesn't give a damn about me

Cause I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby
Yeah I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby
Listen to Iron Maiden baby with me

Her boyfriend's a dick
And he brings a gun to school
And he'd simply kick
My ass if he knew the truth
He lives on my block
And he drives an Iroc
But he doesn't know who I am
And he doesn't give a damn about me

Cause I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby
Yeah I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby
Listen to Iron Maiden baby with me

Yeeah dirtbag, no she doesn't know what she's missin
Yeeah dirtbag, no she doesn't know what she's missin

Man I feel like mold
It's prom night and I am lonely
Low and behold
She's walking over to me
This must be fake
My lip starts to shake
How does she know who I am
And why does she give a damn

I've got two tickets to Iron Maiden baby
Come with me Friday, don't say maybe
I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby like you

Yeeah dirtbag, no she doesn't know what she's missin
Yeeah dirtbag, no she doesn't know what she's missin

hey Arbie

Yes that is a very cool song. I always pictured you more as an Alice Cooper Hey Stoopid kinda guy, but it just goes to show that you don't know a man until you have shared lyrics with him.

Rock on, dude.
