The Disgrace Is Not In the Falling Down

CD’s of Bok van Blerk’s hit song Delarey flew off the shelves last year faster than you can blink. Clicks, the parent company of Bok’s recording label, laughed all the way to the bank. However, sales plummeted this year after Polokwane, Reitz and Skielik, oil prices soared, interest rates increased and the AWB was resurrected.

I decided to take advantage of the situation and make a fast buck, or so I thought I would. I penned the following liedjie and forwarded it to Bok and Clicks, assuring them that it would out-perform the Delarey hit song. But guess what? They wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole. I don’t know why. Perhaps you folks on OLM can figure it out and give me an idea. Maybe the ditty just needs a little tweak here and there. If you help me, I will share the royalties of the new hit song generously with you and the composer of Oupa het ‘n vark gery. Here are the first few verses:
