Angolan Roads 2

The water puddles are very deceptive. You try not to go through them. During Portuguese times this used to be a tar road. The puddles hide huge potholes, your vehicle can disappear right down to window level, and you do not know what is lurking in the puddle, which can turn out to be a fucking deep hole. The potholes originated from land mines and artillery shelling during the war, and big trucks supplying Angola from South Africa getting stuck and having to dig themselves out. You cannot really leave the road as the shoulders and beyond are often still mined!
